The German University of Technology in Oman (GUtech), represented by the Oman Training Institute, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ostool Catering, a leading marine fuel supply company. This collaboration aims to enhance cooperation in professional training, scientific research, and the development of logistics technologies, contributing to advancing the maritime industry, aligning with global trends, and improving the efficiency of marine supply operations.
The MoU was signed by Ms. Nawal Jawad, Assistant Vice President for Educational Services at GUtech, and Mr. Mahmood bin Amer Al Sheibani, Acting CEO of Ostool, in the presence of several officials from both sides.
The agreement includes providing hands-on training opportunities for GUtech students and graduates, along with developmental programs to familiarize them with the latest practices and technologies in the maritime and logistics sectors. Additionally, the collaboration involves conducting joint research projects and organizing scientific events that bring together academics and industry experts to foster innovation and align with global sustainability and innovation trends.
Moreover, both parties will exchange knowledge and leverage research facilities and technical resources to support research and development initiatives.
Mr. Mahmood bin Amer Al Sheibani emphasized the importance of this partnership in developing national competencies and strengthening the integration between academia and industry. Meanwhile, Ms. Nawal Jawad highlighted that the agreement would bridge education and the job market, enhancing graduates’ readiness for industry demands.
GUtech and Ostool continue to strengthen their strategic partnerships and joint initiatives, reaffirming their roles as key contributors to the development of the maritime and logistics sectors. This collaboration aligns with Oman Vision 2040, which aspires to build a knowledge-based and innovation-driven economy.
