The primary objective of the MoU is to promote and encourage scientific and academic collaboration between GUtech and AASTMT. Key areas of collaboration include exchanges between faculty members, exchange of students, internship opportunities, developing join academic programs, joint research activities and publications, and the exchange of academic information and materials in fields of mutual interest.

GUtech, a leading private university in Oman, is dedicated to establishing and promoting education, innovation, and technology best practices in the region. Since its establishment in 2007, GUtech has been committed to defining the highest standards in education, research, and knowledge transfer and to be a node between industry and academia as well as countries and continents.

Since its inception in 1972 AASTMT has been dedicated to fostering a highly professional environment of advancing knowledge, developing human potential and breaking new intellectual and academic ground with the aim of improving the lives of human beings and of communities all over the Arab and the whole World.

Professor Michael Braun expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating: “This MoU signifies our commitment to fostering academic excellence and innovation and expands our international network of strategic partners, particularly in the Middle East. The cooperation will begin with joint research and teaching activities in the field of transport and logistics, will provide new attractive opportunities to our students and researchers and can be extended to other areas of mutual interest such as Artificial Intelligence. We look forward to a fruitful collaboration that will benefit both of our institutions.”

Professor Ismail Abdelghafar said during the signing of the MoU with GUtech: “As the technical arm of the League of Arab States, the Arab Academy for Science and Technology (AAST) is committed to serving and connecting with esteemed universities across the Arab region. This Memorandum of Understanding with GUtech is a testament to that vision, as it will facilitate the exchange of students and staff as well as collaborative research opportunities between our two institutions. By strengthening academic and cultural ties, we aim to advance education, innovation, and knowledge-sharing for the benefit of the Arab world.”
