The German University of Technology in Oman was honoured to receive Christian Wulff, former President of the Federal Republic of Germany, during his official visit to the university campus.
He was welcomed by Professor Dr Michael Braun, Rector of GUtech, and Hon. Dr Hussain Al Salmi, Deputy Rector for Administration and Finance, along with several academic and administrative Heads of Departments. The visit included a fruitful meeting and discussion on higher education, innovation, and the prospects of Omani German collaboration. Both sides also addressed the growing importance of artificial intelligence in advancing education and scientific research, and the pivotal role of emerging technologies in shaping the future of higher education.
The visit also featured a campus tour that included GUtech’s advanced laboratories, the 3D concrete printing building, and the award winning EcoHaus.
It is worth noting that Christian Wulff previously visited GUtech during his presidency in 2011, reflecting the depth of the enduring relationship between the university and the German side.
This distinguished visit highlights GUtech’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence, sustainability, and international cooperation.
